KILL YOUR FLESH!!!

Hey,
Yes, I know the heading is dramatic, but I feel like it needed to be, as this is an important topic.
Last week, we did the 7-day sugar detox. I hope you stuck with it, and more importantlyI hope you felt the difference.
Clearer mind.
Better focus.
More energy.
Less cravings.
More control.
Even if you didn’t do it perfectly, you probably noticed how cutting sugar just a little had a big impact.
But today, I want to go deeper than food.
Let’s talk about something we all experience but rarely name: The battle between your spirit and your flesh.
You know what I’m talking about.
When your spirit says, “No, this isn’t good for me”
But your flesh says, “One more won’t hurt.”
When your spirit says, “Get up and go build”
But your flesh says, “Let’s scroll a little longer.”
When your spirit says, “Speak up. Show up. Step out.”
But your flesh says, “Stay safe. Don’t risk it.”
That voice that resistance is your flesh.
And let me tell you something straight: Your flesh doesn’t want the best for you.
It wants comfort.
It wants pleasure.
It wants shortcuts.
It wants relief, not results.
But your spirit?
Your spirit wants purpose.
Your spirit wants alignment.
Your spirit wants growth.
So here’s the uncomfortable truth: If you don’t learn to master your flesh, your flesh will master your life.
Why Killing the Flesh Matters
1. Discipline is spiritual warfare
You’re not just resisting sugar or laziness, you’re resisting the part of you that wants to stay average.
Every time you choose discipline, you’re feeding your spirit and weakening your flesh.
2. Flesh says “now.” Spirit says “what’s next.”
The flesh is short-sighted. It wants instant pleasure.
The spirit is long-term. It wants legacy.
You can’t serve both at the same time.
3. The flesh is loud, but the spirit is strong
The more you kill the lazy flesh, the more your spirit rises.
And when your spirit leads, you’re dangerous, in the best way.
Non-Negotiable Action for the Week
Pick one thing your flesh craves that you know is holding you back, sugar, scrolling, gossip, comfort and deny it for 3 days.
Replace it with something that feeds your spirit: prayer, fasting, stillness, deep work, purpose.
Feel the tension. Win the war.
Quote of the Week
"Watch and pray, so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." – Matthew 26:41
Every time you say no to your flesh, you say yes to your future.
You say yes to clarity. Yes to discipline. Yes to purpose.
The people who win in life aren’t the smartest. They’re the ones who mastered the war inside.
Stay bold. Stay relentless. Kill the flesh.
David
P.S. If the sugar detox helped you see this battle clearer, reply and let me know. I’d love to hear your story.
