Are You Letting Embarrassment Rob You?

Hey,
A couple of months ago, I was on a panel and said something that hit a nerve in the room:
“You’re scared of being embarrassed, and it’s costing you a lot.”
And I meant it.
I’ve been there.
Worried what people might think.
Afraid to look silly.
Hesitating because I might fail in public.
But then I had to remind myself
Is feeling embarrassed worth more than hitting my goals?
Is protecting my image worth more than building my future?
Because here’s what happens:
You play small so you don’t look foolish.
You hold back so no one can laugh at you.
You tiptoe instead of taking bold moves, just to stay “safe.”
But you know what’s really foolish?
Wasting years because you cared about a stranger’s opinion.
Let’s get real:
People will laugh.
People will think it’s weird.
They will question why you’re trying something different.
But remember this, The same people who laugh at you now will ask you for help later, once you start winning.
Here’s what you need to lock in this week:
1. Embarrassment is temporary; regret is permanent.
You will get over being laughed at.
You won’t get over never trying.
2. Nobody actually cares as much as you think.
Most people are too busy worrying about their own lives to judge yours for long.
And even if they do, so what? Their opinion doesn’t pay your bills or build your dreams.
3. Fear is a sign you’re moving in the right direction.
If you don’t feel a little exposed, you’re not stretching.
Big moves require big courage, period.
Non-Negotiable Action for the Week
Do one thing this week that scares you because of how it might look. Post the video. Pitch the client. Start the project. Embrace the risk of looking silly—and watch how you grow.
Quote of the Week
"The fear of looking stupid is holding you back more than looking stupid ever could." – D Olusegun
You can’t build an extraordinary life while trying to look ordinary.
Choose your future over your fear.
Every. Single. Time.
Stay bold. Stay relentless.
